Natural experience at Mura

white narcissus (narcissus poeticus ssp. Radiiflorus) The flower that belongs to the daffodil family. Academician dr. Milko Matičetov (1979) found about 120 domestic names for her, and we call it a fünnešnica. Narcissus is a protected flower that grows on Prleki meadows in the vicinity of Veržej and blooms in May.


Many older citizens like to remember those times when Miss Narcis events were held for several years in a row, where they chose the most beautiful girls in the place. Unfortunately, the white daffodils are found today only in a few arom in the vicinity of Veržej, as farmers dried a large part of the meadows years ago, brewed and turned into fields. However, we try our best to preserve this symbol of our place. This is why warning boards are erected next to the meadows that tearing is prohibited. - The path between the dead of the Mura River is a 2.5 km long marked track, on which we can best be convinced of a diverse and rich life in the flood world of Mura. It was designed by the locals. The locals also do guidance on it for students and teachers, laymen and professionals. During the visit, he explains the ecology of river arches, as well as presents plant, animal species of bows and the lives of people along the river


A very big feature that can be found in the dead of the Mura River is a frog called blonde. Plavček is a chokata frog of brown frogs, characterized by a brown stranded mask. The body size is 4 to 6 cm, exceptionally 8 cm, and males are usually smaller than females. Males turn blue during mating (early spring), and as intense as possible, there are more females attracting mating. They are found on lowland swamp meadows, flood forests along large rivers and with standing waters without fish, such as marshes, dead and lukewarms.
