The founders intended to establish a forestry-cemetery school in the facility, but due to lack of financial resources, this has never come true. However, until the First World War, the private gymnasium had its premises, and during the wars the Salesians were operated by the building. Since 1949, there has been a youth home in which the educational institution operated; First as seven years, then until 1953 as a lower gymnasium. In 1992, after the denationalization, the institution was re -operated by the Salesians, while becoming a temporary home of war refugees from the republics of the former Yugoslavia. In 2005, the Marianum Institute was established for educational, cultural and religious activities with the organizational unit Pension Mavrica and Marijišče, which is joined by the home and artistic craft center next year.
