This is a meat product that is of the special features of Prlekija. It must be prepared under special conditions and specific ingredients. However, it is a product that is canned in the cutting and traditionally stored in wooden containers called "tünka". By ripening into the cut, the meat gets a special taste, appreciated by connoisseurs of this gastronomic specialty. The farmers in the village "produced" the Prlek Tünko, due to the fact that the meat obtained from the pigs had to be preserved in some way. Because they had some pigs at each house, the time was always in winter. Climatic conditions did not allow the meat to be maintained for a long time in the warmer months. In order to keep the meat for a long time, or that in times when they did not know the refrigerators and freezers, they saved for the whole year, the meat was thermally treated and the diving "tünki" in the injection and stored in earlier the aforementioned containers. In this way, the meat was useful for a long time, regardless of the fact that there was no technology for storing meat products. In this way, the Prlek Tünka is produced today, both in households for their own use, as well as in the conditions of industrial production intended for the market.
